Professor Syed Haq, MB.BS., BSc. (HON), Ph.D., DIC, MRCP(UK) is Professor of Internal Medicine, Honorary Consultant Physician, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and an Associate of The London Wellness Centre and Plastic Surgery Associates UK, London. His expertise includes Anti-ageing and Wellness Medicine, Internal Medicine and non-invasive aesthetics. His extensive experience has been obtained through training at some of the foremost institutions in the United Kingdom (Guy’s and St.Thomas’s Hospital) and the United States (Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Tufts University, Boston).
Prof. Haq is an authority on Anti-ageing and Wellness Medicine, and is unique by the very fact that he has applied this developing area in concert with the discipline of mainstream evidenced-based internal medicine, by using “state of the art” molecular diagnostic techniques and methods as well as traditional and naturopathic treatment modalities. The principles of patient management rely on early identification of disease pathologies, changes in hormonal balance and the intrinsic level of inflammation by critical analyses of their root cause. In many cases, much of which are longstanding and have been allowed to develop over time without being fully defined.
Prof. Haq utilises both his wealth of clinical knowledge and experience together with his extensive understanding of cellular signalling and factors regulating cellular growth and ageing. Prof. Haq is an expert in cellular signalling and has published over thirty peer-reviewed articles in several internationally renowned scientific journals including Nature Medicine. He has been co-chairman of the Anti-ageing Conference London, UK in 2008, as well as being an invited speaker at numerous international conferences (American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology and British Cardiac Society). His work has been cited in over 500 peer-reviewed published articles worldwide. In addition, he has worked as a peer-reviewer for several scientific journals including; Journal of Biological Chemistry, Circulation, Circulation Research etc).
During his career Prof. Haq has received over twenty-three national and international awards and fellowships/scholarships. They include the Medical Research Council Fellowship, Wellcome Trust International Prize, American Heart Association (AHA) Young Scientist Development Grant, New England Young Investigator of the Year, second prize in the Louis N. and Arnold M. Katz Prize for Young Investigator of the Year, and Jay N. Cohn Award.
